- Responsive layout
- Final outcome
The goal was to create a one-page informative Website about a holiday that was of interest and that could be explained visually.
The yearly event Mardi Gras was chosen because it is a festive and cheerful holiday that is mainly identified by the big parades. Close to Savannah, Georgia, in Tybee Island, there is a local celebration for this holiday. This became an opportunity while, I was in Downtown, to get original photography and capture the essence of the parade.
The first step was to research about the origins of this celebration. It has a background that goes back to Medieval Europe and it takes place in many parts of the world including several cities of the United States.
Next step was making rough sketches to start shaping the idea of the Website.
On February 14th, 2015, took place the parade on Tybee Island. This is based on the traditions of Mardi Gras, with a local touch that gives the identity to the celebration.
A large number of photos were taken to capture the important moments of the parade and illustrate how this event is celebrated, the people, the clothes, the colors, and all the elements that are usually found in this parade.
The high fidelity composition were created using Photoshop®. The content is the most important part of the web site, therefore it most be readable on any device.
Then the assets were exported for web. For this project I used one of the built in responsive starter themes in Adobe Dreamweaver.
